High-Vibration Pipe Clamps for Pump & Compressor Lines

Single-bolt clamps on positive-displacement pump discharge lines loosen within 200-300 operating hours. NIBRO two-bolt damped clamps with self-locking nuts and 75 Shore A liner hold torque under 200 Hz @ 4g vibration — the standard envelope of food pumps, compressors and screw extruders.
The vibration loosening mechanism
• Pulsating flow from positive-displacement pumps imposes 0.5-2 mm peak-to-peak displacement at the clamp.
• On a single-bolt clamp this becomes a back-and-forth bending moment that progressively unwinds the bolt.
• Once loose, the clamp resonates, the liner wears, and metal-on-metal contact generates particulate.
Two-bolt geometry constrains rotational displacement and increases the effective stiffness by 4×.
Validated dynamic performance
• Sinusoidal sweep 5-200 Hz, 4g acceleration: clamping force retained ≥ 95% after 10⁶ cycles.
• Random vibration MIL-STD-810G: no fastener back-out observed.
• Thermal cycling combined: -20 °C / +80 °C, 50 cycles, no degradation.
Spec for vibration-prone lines
• Body: 316L double-bent profile.
• Fasteners: A4-70 with DIN 985 self-locking nylock nuts.
• Liner: 75 Shore A EPDM or VMQ (silicone) for elevated temperature.
• Mounting plate: 4 mm thick with 4 hole pattern for stiff anchorage.
